More than just a place to stay, our newly renovated historic building, awarded with Qualmark 5 star silver sustainable business award, is the preferred stop for travellers and young adventurers wanting high quality, affordable rooms, a great vibe and our million-dollar harbour views. We offer accommodation for the solo traveller, the holiday maker and groups. We have a great variety of rooms available from shared dorm rooms to private rooms both with shared facilities or with ensuite bathrooms and we even have our own section suitable for groups up to 30+ where you have your own lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities.

We also offer our guests help with finding local and seasonal jobs to save up for their travels.

Check in is 2pm (however you may arrive earlier as we can store your luggage, but your room may not be ready) and the front door is closed at 9pm.

Check out 10am. You are more than welcome to stay and use the facilities until 2pm, we do charge a day rate of $10pp if you wish to stay in the hostel (not in the room) after 10am until 2pm. After that you will need to pay for another night.

We also have FREE WIFI available.

All guests require valid photo identification (passport, drivers license, 18+ card) and valid credit card details on registering into the hostel. Please make sure you ALL have this to avoid disappointment.

We are situated at 105 the Strand on the waterfront in Tauranga CBD. The local bus stop and intercity bus stop is right around the corner from the backpackers.

Parking is free from 6PM to 9AM every day and on Sundays. During the day parking costs $1.00 for the first two hours and $5.00 per hour for any subsequent hours.

Please note, we do charge a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit for bookings over the holidays; Christmas, New Years, Easter, Labour weekend and also for bookings over the period of Bay Dreams Festival and One Love Festival.
A 3.5% surcharge for credit card payments will be apply.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
48hr Cancellation Policy (EXCEPT summer peak season (24 Dec - 12 Jan) - One Love festival (26 - 29 Jan) - All public holidays - when special terms apply)
If your plans change, please call us to cancel or amend your booking at least 48 hours prior to 2pm on your day of arrival. We charge for the first night's accommodation cancelled with less than 48hrs notice.
Exceptions of the 48hr cancelation policy:
- Summer peak season (24 Dec - 12 Jan) - One Love festival (26 - 29 Jan) - All public holidays (4-5-6th Feb + 7-8-9-10th April + 22-23-24-25th April + 3-4-5th june + 14-15th July + 21-22-23rd Oct 2023):
Bookings made for this period are non-refundable. Changes or cancellations are not allowed. The property will charge the outstanding amount at any time after the booking has been made. In case your card is not valid, the property will contact you asking for new card details. If you don't provide the details within 24 hours, the property is entitled cancel your booking.

Please note for groups of 6 or more, special conditions apply at all times:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the moment of the reservation and the remaining balance 1 week before arrival.
7-day cancellation policy before arrival with no refund on deposit.
