The hostel hosts 22 beds: three 6 bed mixed dorms and one 4 bed female dorm. Cozy bedding, fluffy pillows, free towels, international sockets for your devices, reading light for each bed, air conditioning to beat the heat and free wi-fi to all our guests to stay connected!

You shouldn’t expect a hostel like in South east asia in Sri lanka.. :)
Overall had a good atmosphere but showers and toilets are outdoor, of course no hot shower.
A bit distant from the actual surfing beach of Weligama (1.2km?), so if it is your first time surfing and planning to get lessons I’d recommend a hostel nearer to the beach.
But as said, a chill atmosphere is definitely there with different activities for travelers.

스리랑카내에 호스텔 자체가 적은편인데 여긴 다른 동남아식 호스텔과 매우 유사합니다. 밤마다 새 액티비티합니다. 일단 밤에 매우 시끄럽습니다. 왁자지껄한 바이브를 즐긴다면 정말 최고의 장소. 조식도 정갈하고 스텝들도 친절합니다. 퉁명스럽게 느껴질수있으나 그들의 스타일입니다. 존중해주세요. 최선을 다해 요구사항을 들어주고 해결해 줍니다. 위치도 좋고 장박 손님들도 있어 같이 몰려 서핑가기도 합니다. 없는걸 요구하기보단 가진것 내에서 최선을 다하는 스텝들은 모습을 보고 오시면 될거같습니다.
One of the top rated hostel I’ve ever went. You know thee are few “proper hostels” in srilanka yet. This one here is very nice. Staffs are nice and also breakfast. Staffs always try to help. I’d definitely stay here again

loved my stay at beatroot. the owners are so kind and helpful, the restaurant is delicious, a/c in the room was wonderful when it was too hot to even be outside. showers are outdoor which was nice to watch see the stars during a nighttime shower 🤣
