The house itself is a historical landmark. A former private home filled with large rooms, balconies, hammocks, an outside area with a nice pool, and the most helpful staff around. You will not want to leave!!
Everyone speaks English, and are prepared to give you information and local tips. The staff prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere.
This is a special place where friendships are made!
Feel free to leave your bags at our storage room, if you want to have a look somewhere else around us before checking in (if you are leaving after check-out time and want to continue using the luggage locker and facilities, we charge a fee)! It will be a big pleasure for us even if you don´t stay there, and you will be anyway, very welcome to come to our bar and have a drink where you can meet a lot of backpackers and Brazilian people!

The only good thing about this place is location.
Other than that do not recommend.
The vibe is off.
No relax at all: renovations and drilling all day long. In female room bunch of male workers going back and forth.
Security is very questionable: neither rooms nor lockers have a lock
Only 3 showers for the whole hostel and without warm water
Stuff is ok but not really welcoming
3rd floor bed had dusty surfaces and it was pretty annoying+dangerous to get in to

Not worth the price!
They are doing some renovations so it's very noisy and the only showers you can use are on the other side of the people, so you have to go outside to get there.
Lots of mosquitoes in the bed at night.
For that price, breakfast should be included.
Good things : big locker for the backpack. Close to Ipanema beach.

Super helpful staff, who helped organise trips and gave us advice and recommendations. When we arrived very early in the morning they had our room cleaned first so we could check in a few hours earlier. Lovely pool and bar area, safe and secure feeling hostel.
