Hostel Casa Areka is located in the heart of Panama City in a nice neighborhood. There is a 24hr supermarket and restaurants opposite the hostel. The famous Beachwalk is a few steps away as well as two big malls, rooftop bars and even a park at the sea!
The highlight is the amazing pool area surrounded by palm trees with a BBQ area to relax after a busy day in the city. The common area with pool table, sofas and great internet connection invites to chill. The common kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals.
You can choose between private rooms as well as dorms – all with air-conditioning. Breakfast, Wifi, lockers and towels are included.
It is a great place to meet people with a very nice atmosphere. Owned by a Panamanian and his Swiss woman, they have found the way to make you feel at home at this small Hostel with their friendly STAFF.

Great hostel, would recommend staying here. Supermarket is close but they also provide water at the hostel.
AC so it’s cool at night and kept on for pretty late in the morning compared to other hostels.
Social area but nothing too crazy, easy to meet people if you wanted to.

I really enjoyed my stay (: ac-cooled and clean rooms, coffee&pancakes for breakfast, good kitchen+community area. pool actually is very clean and refreshing (:

Property location was right in the heart of the downtown of the city. The hostel only took cash and when given cash in large bill they did not have change and never got my chance back as the same staff wasn’t. Lot’s of mosquitos in the common area and kitchen. No hot/warm water in the hostel. Only 3 bathroom/shower in the facility so often had to wait for it to open up.
