BRAND NEW hostel, located only 300m away from the beach. FREE buffet style breakfast included. Oostende is called 'the queen of cities at the sea'. It is the biggest city at the Belgian coast & has a lot to offer to visitors f.eks. museums, shops, restaurants. You can visit the 'Mercator' - a former trainingvessel (sailing) from the Belgian navy or wander around looking at the yachts. Guided tours by the Marine Ecological centre can be booked through the hostel.

This hostel is part of the Flemish Youth Hostels Association , which is a membership organization. As from January 1st 2014 onvwards, the prices quoted include a 1-day membership fee. Discounts are not available for members of VJH (Belgium) or Hostelling International as part of this booking.

The shower flooded the floor in the toilet whatever we did with the curtain and could not sweep it away. Otherwise excellent stay

Lack of security allowed spare beds to be used by non-paying youngsters, and others to lock themselves in the shower room and sleep there overnight, and then take breakfast without paying. Staff were unwilling to tackle the issue and did absolutely nothing, and it appeared this lack of any responsibility was their normal way of dealing with any issue or complaint. It would be irresponsible to allow any young travellers to stay at this hostel.
