Declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; Tulum is a must-see destination in the Mexican Caribbean. Shambalam Hostel is located 4 km away from the beach in the heart of the town of Tulum, a privileged location between the ADO bus station and Centauro street where you can find shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, tour operators, scooter/bicycles rentals, and other places of interest in the town. Shambalam Hostel; a property that preserves the classic style of the Tulum town with natural and minimalist touches that create an exact design mix for our world travelers.

We love nature so welcome to the jungle, we have different activities and daily experiences for our guests to know our culture and live the true paradise of Tulum visiting cenotes, beaches, ruins, meditation nights, Mexican distillate tastings and coexistence with our staff so that they live the experience as a local.

Our perfectly distributed areas generate spaces for coexistence, coworking, relaxation and amenities. We have a sun deck, bar, kitchen, pool, WIFI to be connected at all time so you can work if necessary, rooms with air conditioning, own bathroom (shared and individual) and meticulous cleaning. Shambalam Hostel adapts to any plan; a place where you can met people from all over the world and share experiences and memories that will stay with you forever. + Big fridge for the guests + Great lockers + Close to the bus terminal and the main street - Staff set de A/C so somethimes was too hot/too cold, it was annoying to have to ask for changing it - No atmosphere at all - Small room for too many people

Itâ€™s a safe, clean place to sleep. Close to ADO station and main street. Filtered water provided. The kitchen was really hot, I canâ€™t imagine cooking in there. Staff were nice, thereâ€™s no excursions or anything as far as I can tell so youâ€™re on your own to go places, but if you ask theyâ€™ll tell you how to get where you need to go or what the best places to eat are. Not good if youâ€™re on your own and want to meet people to do things with.

Clean rooms, helpful staff, but no atmosphere to speak of, was dead for both my nights there.
