콜룸부스 호스텔

The staff at Columbus are all amazing! A rotating door of volunteers it seems like the hostel can’t hang onto good talent or guests due to the failing facilities. Needs major improvements, quality fans need to be added to every room, a termination expert is needed to get rid of all of the cockroaches & bugs everywhere, plumber to fix all of the clogged showers and non working sinks. It’s all about the people, who make the best of a terrible situation.

This place looks great and its in an incredible older building, very cool aspect to it. Unfortunately when we got there and there was a lot of humidity and there was no AC or fans available in the building to be offered, the window to our private room was actually a large window the public hallway (makes it quite awkward for anything intimate). The overall cleanliness of the place is not good, my partner and I were constantly tracking in dirt into our room and bed from the floors and I killed a coach roach in my room… The patio upstairs was really cool, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the central location of this hostel was also very convenient and the kitchen and hangout area were really nice and open. The downstairs showers were kinda weird as they were just behind a door off the kitchen/ lounge area and there was one drain not located anywhere near the actual showers so I felt like i always had to spray the nozzle towards the drain to get the sand and soap down. Other than that its a nice stay if you’re looking for convenience of location & beautiful space to stay in.

I have visted alot of hostels since I travel alot, but this hostel is something else. It’s cozy, rooms are very clean and the staff are amazing. Huge shoutout to Maria, Roberta, Gina, Mikel, Mathilde and Fatima, they made my trip 100% better. I would ofcourse come back again. Gracias Gran Canria 🫶
