I love Hilo Bay Hostel! This is my go to place in Hilo. Stanley and staff are kind, always great guests (that turn into friends), comfortable beds and the best location. Highly recommended!

disgustingly dirty, no hot water for the men's shower..leaks in ceiling, towels left on staircase as remedy for leak....skip

I'd recommend it. Great little spot and significantly cheaper than many air b n b's or hotels in the area. Room was a bit dusty and one shower was out of order which mad getting going in the morning a little tough but other than that I really enjoyed this place. Everyone was super friendly and they had a good gate set up after 9 PM for security. However, I don't remember receiving the combo to the gate as a customer, and I had somebody who was still awake and I could see inside let me in.
