Great location! The beds are quite crappy and the hostel lacks (imo) a nice common space – there's the kitchen and tv room, but would often rather go out to a nearby cafe than sit/socialise/work in either of those two. The beds were quite close to each other, and roommates often woke me up at night just by bumping into me while trying to get their stuff/get ready for bed.

A very nice hostel. Feels like home. Situated in a lovely neighbourhood, and there are many temples etc close by. If you want to see more of the city, you can rent a bike and cycle around. Kyoto is a good city for cycling so you won't regret it.

It's a nice hostel with very friendly staff. The rooms are okay, but I wouldn't call them excellent. I'd say the dorms are bit too small, the beds aren't too good and when you just turn around a bit the bed will make a lot of noise. I also stayed in a double room for a night, which I liked much more. It's good they have a kitchen, but it's not very big and also not so clean. But anyway, it has been a good time staying there.
