Carmel and Clive welcomes you to Cumberland House; a friendly, family run, Victorian Guest House in Surrey, built in 1907 on the Surrey/Sussex Borders. It is just two miles from Gatwick Airport and 42 minutes by train to London Victoria. We offer reasonably priced accommodation and pride ourselves in looking after all our guests on a personal basis. The house is tastefully decorated and all our rooms having en-suite facilities. To make your journey easier we offer a courtsey transfer between Gatwick and Cumberland House between the hours of 07:00 and 23:59. Outside these hours a local taxi is only 5.00 pounds sterling. Our car park is positioned to the front of the house. Full English Breakfast is served between 7am and 9am which consists of bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, fruit juice, toast and jam, tea/coffee. If you need to leave us at 7am or before 7am we have a self-service breakfast available in the breakfast room which consists of fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, orange juice and muffins. Gluten Free Breakfast; The youngest member of our family, Gordon, is coeliac, therefore we are experienced in cooking a Full English Breakfast which is Gluten Free. A Vegetarian cooked breakfast is also available. All of our first floor bedrooms have an en-suite shower room and in addition, two of the rooms have a bath & shower. All of our first floor bedrooms are adaptable to suit your individual accommodation needs. In addition there is one ground floor twin bedded room if you find stairs a difficulty. We include in our rooms, tea/coffee/hot chocolate trays, colour television, radio alarms, thermostatically controlled radiators for the cooler weather and electric fans for the warmer weather. Hairdryers and ironing facilities are available on request. Cumberland House is within easy walking distance of Horley town centre where you will find shops, banks and restaurants to suit every taste. The variety of cuisine includes, Italian, Chinese, Indian and Mediterranean. If you prefer traditional English food why not try Ye Olde Six Bells. This 16th century pub is believed to have connections with the Parish Church next to it, which date back to the 14th century. Now part of the Vinatage Inn group, this pub serves meals throughout the day and evening and is situated approximately 250 yards from our guest house. We look forward to hearing from you!
